The Challenge
In July 2023, our team was contacted by Secure Strata OC Management to undertake extensive meth cleaning services and the decontamination of an entire 12-unit apartment block in Elwood, Victoria. Returning high readings of methamphetamine throughout the building and severe health issues related to exposure, the team acted quickly to ensure the return of a safe and habitable environment for residents.
The Solution
Our highly trained technicians installed containment barriers throughout each apartment, including 3 levels of common areas, to mitigate any cross-contamination risk during the project. All electrical outlets were then sealed with a specialist top-down foam treatment of all internal surfaces completed. Air scrubbers were installed throughout the entirety of the work, ensuring the decontamination of the surrounding air. All onsite materials were also separated with large items decontaminated off-site and smaller items bagged and relocated for each resident, as requested. Finally, methamphetamine validation testing was undertaken to provide certification clearance for the site and approval of the safe return of residents.
The Outcome
After more than 700 hours on-site, delivering expert meth cleaning services and extensive decontamination treatments, the 3-level, 12-unit apartment block was successfully returned to a safe and habitable environment.
